A little about me

I’m a mother of two, a wife, and a birth doula living in Sandy, Utah. My husband and I moved here from Dallas, Texas, in November 2022 after feeling drawn to make a life in Utah. Outside of birth work, I love reading the classics, hiking, baking, and craft coffeers. Becoming a mother has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life, shaping not only how I view birth, but how deeply I believe women deserve to be supported through the many changes of motherhood.

The Story that started it all

During my first pregnancy, I found myself fighting to protect my belief in what birth could be against a cultural narrative that taught women to fear birth as something painful, frightening, and simply to be endured. I wanted a different story, so I spent time learning about birth, breathing, mindset, and the ways I could prepare myself. With the support of my husband and doula, I experienced a birth that was beautiful and empowering in ways I hadn't fully imagined. What surprised me most was how often that experience was dismissed by others. I was told I was lucky, that I had it easy, or that I must have forgotten how hard it really was. Those reactions hurt, but they also strengthened my desire to advocate for women and their wishes for birth. They showed me how important it is to make room for different experiences and to remind women that their stories don't have to fit someone else's expectations. When I welcomed my daughter at home in December 2025, our journey took an unexpected turn when she needed additional medical care in the NICU. During that time, my husband and I found ourselves having to pause procedures and ask questions to understand what was being recommended, why it was necessary, and what alternatives we had. It was a vulnerable reminder of how easily fully informed consent can be overlooked, especially when families are navigating the unexpected. Together, these experiences shaped my desire to become a doula: to create space for women to feel heard, to protect the possibility of a positive birth experience, and to help families feel informed and supported even when birth doesn't unfold as planned.

My Philosophy

I believe birth is a physiological process we are privileged to move through. It is not something simply to be endured, nor is it inherently a medical condition that requires constant intervention. Your body was beautifully and intentionally designed for birth, and I believe there is something sacred in the process of bringing new life into the world. I believe women deserve to protect the sanctity of their birth experience, to honor their instincts and values, and to make decisions free from pressure, fear, or the expectations of others. This doesn't mean viewing medical care as the enemy. It means recognizing that you deserve to be an active participant in your care, with your questions, values, and voice respected along the way. Your birth belongs to you. Your choices matter, your experience matters, and you deserve support that honors both.

How I Support you

My role is to walk alongside you, offering compassionate, continuous support as you navigate pregnancy, prepare for birth, and find your footing in postpartum. I want to help you feel prepared without feeling pressured, informed without feeling overwhelmed, and supported without feeling that you have to follow someone else's version of birth. Whether you're planning a home birth, preparing for a hospital birth, or navigating unexpected changes along the way, my goal is to help you understand your options, feel confident asking questions, and stay connected to your own voice and values. You don't have to know exactly how your birth will unfold to deserve thoughtful, respectful care.

Training & Certifications

  • I completed my formal doula training through Davis County Doulas and began attending births in June 2026. As I continue to develop my practice, I’m committed to deepening my knowledge and experience so I can offer thoughtful, compassionate, and informed support to the families I serve. I believe becoming a doula is an ongoing journey of learning, listening, and growing alongside the women I have the privilege of supporting.
